Elderly woman suffers stroke after she's robbed at cashpoint by two men

An elderly woman suffered a stroke after police say she was robbed at a cashpoint by two men.

Detectives have today released CCTV footage of the 76-year-old woman stood at an ATM in Westminster, London.

Police confirmed they were called out to the cashpoint outside Lloyds Bank, Victoria Street, on January 28 at 1:35pm.

As the woman went to the cash dispensing machine, she withdrew £200 from her account, according to officers.

A statement from the Metropolitan Police said two men then approached her and engaged her in conversation suggesting that she had not used the cashpoint properly.

Confused by this, the woman put her card in the machine again.

At this point, both men observed her entering her pin number before they distracted her further and made off with her card.

The woman was left upset by the incident and the loss of her bank card.

Later that evening she suffered a stroke and was taken to hospital where she remains in a critical condition.
