Which breast should you use to feed your baby? 'Hero' mum creates app that gives answer in seconds

A woman has been hailed a hero for designing a clever app for new mums - which even tells them which breast to use when feeding their baby.

Chloe Owens came up with the idea for Bump 2 Breast when she was pregnant with daughter Lola, who is now three-months-old.

She said, like most first-time mums, she had no idea what to expect and even struggled to remember which breast she had used last when breastfeeding.

It is important that babies have a constant supply of hindmilk - the creamier milk which takes longer to produce.

The app contains a tracker so tired mums do not need to remember which breast to use.

The mum-of-one said the mobile app also contains important information on issues such as colic, and constipation, as well as post-natal depression and how to perform CPR.

It is available on all mobile platforms and has already been downloaded tens of thousands of times.

Chloe, 27, from Swanley, Kent, said: "I wanted every single piece of advice in one app.

"It will prepare women for birth, labour, it will go through all of the pain relief you can have and then it will teach them how to look after babies after birth."

App users can also share their own tips and secrets.

One online reviewer wrote: "This is just what I've been looking for.

"Whoever designed this is a hero, there's literally nothing not covered by this comprehensive app.

"I am so tired I keep forgetting what I need to do, so this is so helpful."

The app, which costs £1.19, is available via Apple, Android and Windows app stores.

When developer fees and other costs are taken into account, app designers can expect to make a couple of pence per download.
