Primary school pupil took a suspected cocaine wrap into school - before allegedly showing his pals how the powder could be snorted

A primary school pupil took a suspected cocaine wrap into school - before allegedly showing his pals how the powder could be snorted.

The schoolboy took the small bag of white powder to Our Lady and St Edward's Catholic Primary School in Birkenhead, Liverpool.

The boy allegedly showed the substance to classmates and demonstrated how it could be taken, reports the Liverpool Echo.

The alarm was raised when pupils went home and told their parents.

There is no suggestion drugs were taken and the unopened package was later handed in to a teacher.

Police said pupils were curious about the package and had done the right thing by reporting it.

One parent, whose daughter attends the school, spoke of their shock.

They told the Echo: "It's disgusting that a child would know what to do with drugs or even know what they are. It's worrying that there are kids that do.

"The boy was showing other kids what it is and how to use it. Another parent made a complaint and that's when the police got involved.

"I've had to have a serious word with my daughter and warned her not to take anything off the other kids.

"I shouldn't have to have this conversation with her when she is still in primary school, I'm just glad that she is sensible enough to know that it was wrong."

Police confirmed they were called to the school, in Price Street, last Friday, April 24.
