A 19-year-old girl raped by her 16-year-old ex-boyfriend on the street in Rockville died on the way to a hospital for an examination - and her ex-boyfriend has been arrested.
According to authorities in Montgomery County, Maryland, Marquiz Turner is facing a second-degree rape charge over the alleged attack.
According to a court document, the girl and 16-year-old Turner met to see a movie together in Rockland.
The boy told police that he believed they agreed to have sex during the movie and was upset when his ex-girlfriend didn't want to.
Police said Turner acknowledged raping her on the street near the Montgomery County Circuit Courthouse, where sheriff's deputies saw them struggling and intervened.
According to ABC affiliate WJLA, deputies were told about the scuffle outside by a security guard for the courthouse, who saw 'a struggle' on security footage at about 11.40pm.
A court document said the girl was put in an ambulance but died on the way to hospital for unknown reasons.
WJLA reported she was declared dead at 1am on Friday.
The ABC affiliate station quoted court documents as saying '[Turner] was going to have intercourse regardless of [his date's] objections'.
