A man has been accused of rape as well as drinking the blood of three teenage girls - and having them drink his.
Jonathan Ryan Davis, 21, has been accused by Pittsburgh Police of slitting his wrists and persuading the girls to slit theirs so they could all drink.
He is also alleged to have taken a 14-year-old girl to a church, where he had sex with her.
Davis, from Vandergrift, Westmoreland County, USA, is facing a string of charges, including statutory rape, witness intimidation, and corruption of minors.
Vandergrift Police Officer Joseph Gray told KDKA: “There were some ritualistic issues from the summer and fall of last year, some blood-letting where victims [juveniles] cut their own wrists, and Davis would take their blood in his mouth and vice versa.”
Officer Gray said it took months to finish the unusual investigation, because he had to “connect all the dots”.
According to the criminal complaint, the alleged underage sex happened at the St Gertrude Church in December. The victim told police she was initially at Kennedy Park with Davis and some mutual friends.
Witnesses said they observed Davis kissing the victim and touching her inappropriately in the park.
Davis is facing additional charges of obstructing administration of law and hindering apprehension amid claims he tried to get a witness to lie to police about his involvement with a Facebook conversation.
The witness said he would not lie to police to help out Davis.
During an interview with police, it is claimed Davis admitted to making three girls drink his blood.
Davis, who police say has used the names Daryl Nohara and Shiki Nohara, allegedly told police the blood letting and sampling is part of 'Mabinogi', says the Pittsburgh-Tribune Review.
Mabinogi is a popular online role-playing game which takes its name from Mabinogion, a Welsh anthology of legend.
According to the criminal complaint, two of the incidents happened between October and December of last year.
The social media profile he used on Facebook under the name Shiki Nohara has since been deactivated, but the images of him there showed him with swords and knives, and posing with something like blood around his mouth.
Asked if he had ever heard of anything like this before, Officer Gray, a policeman for 22 years, said: “Only in Hollywood.”
Currently out on bail of £32,000, Davis is due in court on July 7.
