One of the daughters of a former Vice-President, Atiku Abubakar, Dr. Fatima Atiku, appointed as the Commissioner for Health in Adamawa State, says she will be donating her salary and allowances for the improvement of the health sector in the state.
Speaking to journalists on Friday after she and 21 other commissioners were sworn-in by the state governor, Bindow Jubrilla, Atiku said she was making the sacrifice to revitalise the health sector.
She said, “I am very grateful to the governor for appointing me to head the health ministry. The ministry is the most challenging because of the insurgency problem that had caused some damage to the health system in the state.
“For this reason, I shall be donating my salary and allowances for use in enhancing the delivery of health care service in the state.”
