Progressive Congress (APC) in Bauchi South senatorial district, Musa Adamu Lar, has withdrawn his resignation.
Mr. Lar tendered his resignation Friday, alleging poor leadership in the state chapter of the party.
On Saturday, Mr. Lar said his decision to reverse his earlier resignation followed the intervention of party members from the seven local government areas that constitute the zone. They are Alkaleri, Bauchi, Dass, Tafawa Balewa, Toro, Bogoro and Kirfi.
“After tendering my resignation letter, members of the state executive council of our party rejected it and prevailed on me to withdraw the letter because I did not consult any of the stakeholders before taking such decision,” he said.
“I have decided to withdraw my resignation today because I have seen reason to do so based on the intervention of the stakeholders and base on my respect for the party and people of the zone because I am not representing myself alone but the people of the seven Local Government under my zone.”
The state Organizing Secretary of APC, Abdulkadir Gyangyan, commended Mr. Lar for withdrawing his resignation letter.
He described Mr. Lar as a dedicated APC leader who worked tirelessly for the victory of the party, commending his effort during the last general election.
