'Ginger extremist' guilty of royal terror plot

A neo-Nazi who felt discriminated against because of his ginger hair has been found guilty of plotting a terror attack.

Mark Colborne had fantasised about shooting Prince Charles with a sniper rifle and so red-headed Harry could be king.

The 37-year-old was caught after his half brother found documents detailing his racial hatred in his bedroom at the family's Southampton home.

The jury in a trial earlier this year failed to reach a verdict.

But following a retrial, Colborne has been found guilty of preparing terrorist acts prior to his arrest on 3 June last year.

He was convicted on a majority verdict after jurors deliberated for more than 14 hours.

Although he was found guilty of the charge, the jury rejected aspects of the allegations, including that he possessed chemicals to make cyanide and dimethyl sulphoxide, and stockpiled equipment such as syringes, screw top spray and face masks.
