Gunmen abducts Dickson's political adviser

Less than 12 hours after Governor Seriake Dickson declared his intention to go for a second term, his Political Adviser, Chief Fyneman Wilson was in the early hours of Wednesday abducted from his country home in Sagbama, headquarters of Sagbama local government area of Bayelsa state.

This is the second time Wilson would be abducted from the same home by kidnappers.

Wilson, one of the closes confidants of Governor Seriake Dickson was said to have left the venue of Dickson's declaration, where he played very prominent role for his home late Tuesday night.

It was learnt that the Special Adviser who is also a kinsman of the Governor was seized at about 4.00 am on Wednesday by five unknown gunmen who abducted him with his Personal Assistant, identified simply as Fred before disappearing into the night through the River Forcados, a tributary of the River Niger.

The reason for the abduction of Wilson and his PA have yet to be known, but government sources say the abduction was politically motivated.

The state Government in a press statement by the commissioner for information and orientation, Mr. Kikile Dan-Osueme confirmed the abduction.
