Police arrest lovers for trafficking 3-year-old

Operatives of the Delta State Police Command have recovered a three-year-old boy, Chukwunalu Adikwu, from his abductors.

Mother of the victim, Nkiru Odili, had reported at Onicha-Olona Police Station, Asaba, on February 25, that her son, Adikwu, had gone missing.

She was said to have informed the police that she suspected her brother, Emeka Odili and his girlfriend, one Blessing, to be the brain behind the abduction.

The three-year-old boy was said to have been taken to Onitsha in Anambra State for sale.

However, luck was said to have run against the lover-suspects as they were apprehended while about to sell off the boy.

Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Celestina Kalu, in a statement, said that investigation had revealed that the lovers had once sold off their own biological child, adding that further investigations would be carried out while the suspects would be prosecuted accordingly.
