This heavily pregnant mum sucked venom out of her young son's leg after he was bitten by a rattlesnake.
Brave
Jaclyn Caramazza, who is due to give birth this month, says her "mama
bear" instincts kicked in and she raced to help her four-year-old boy
Vinny.
The youngster was bitten while walking on a bike trail with his mum, near their home in Folsom, California.
He accidentally stepped on something brown. Something coiled up.
“It wasn’t dog poop,” Vinny said.
“I know, it was a snake,” his mom said.
“I’m looking around, and took his shoes off, and lo-and-behold, there were two little puncture marks,” Jaclyn told Fox 40 .
Within minutes, Vinny’s ankle started to swell and turned purple as the venom began to spread to his entire leg.
Jaclyn added: "Mama bear instinct in me decided to suck the venom because that’s what Bonanza does."
But experts have said they wouldn't advise to copy her actions.
California Fish and Wildlife officer Chris Stoots said. “Absolutely don’t do that.
"Use your basic wound type stuff, soap and water, wash the area, keep it clean and call 911 immediately.”
Luckily,
the venom Jaclyn tried to suck out of Vinny’s leg didn’t spread to her
or her unborn son and the youngster is on the mend.
