Police in Abuja have arraigned one Usman Umar before an Abuja Grade 1 Area Court for allegedly stealing N10,000 at a petrol station in Kubwa, a suburb of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
The 35-year old businessman who was charged with theft according to Section 287 of the Penal Code, however pleaded not guilty.
The police prosecutor at the court said Lukas Ephraim, the complainant who lives at Kubwa village, on May 12, reported at Kubwa Police Station that the accused while at the NIPCO filling station, Kubwa, stole N10, 000 from his pocket without his consent.
The Judge Mohammed Marafa, however granted him bail in the sum of N20, 000 with one surety; a resident within the court jurisdiction. The case was adjourned to 22nd June for hearing.
