Rio Ferdinand makes first public appearance at Louis Vuitton fashion show since wife Rebecca's death

Rio Ferdinand stepped out to join the likes of Kanye West and Louis Vuitton for its show for Men’s Fashion Show in Paris on Thursday, which is his first public event since the tragic death of his wife Rebecca Ellison last month.

The former footballer, who recently announced that he was retiring from the sport, sadly lost his wife after a long battle with breast cancer in May.

Rio, 36, looked slick in a cropped charcoal suit, which he teamed with a white pair of trainers to go with his crisp white t-shirt.

Father-of-three Rio went to the star-studded event alone and wore dark glasses before entering the venue.

Rio has only been seen a handful of times since losing his wife, having been seen with Gary Lineker at London’s Chiltern Firehouse last week.

He also took part in a Q&A session with his former England teammate Steven Gerrard for BT Sport.
