A university student got her 15 minutes of fame recently when her elaborate plan to get back at her thieving roommate went viral on the internet.
The
girl said her roommate had been secretly stealing her food from the
fridge, which prompted her to come up with the plan to lay out fake food
as a trap.
The student, from an unnamed university in China,
said she was forced to act after she discovered that her roommate had a
bad habit of stealing food, and thought long and hard about confronting
her.
In the end, she came up with an elaborate plan to create a tasty-looking but fake breaded chicken cutlet.
The cutlet is almost indistinguishable from the original – and looked just as tasty until it was bitten into.
The
student posted a step-by-step process online, which shows how she used
two pieces of cardboard as the supposed chicken fillet, which she shaped
with a knife to give it a round, smooth look.
She then dipped the cardboard fillet in soy sauce, flour and breadcrumbs, after which she put it into a pan to fry.
The result was a crispy cardboard cutlet, onto which she added chilli powder just for good measure.
The pictures have also been shared hundreds of thousands of times.
But
Internet users said they still wanted to eat the expertly-made fake
food, despite the fact that they already knew it was not real.
The student did not reveal the end of the story after it was placed in the fridge.
