The presidential campaign of the All Progressives Congress
(APC) held on Monday in Borno State ended abruptly, after unruly crowd
jumped onto the platform denying party candidate access to the platform.
The rowdy crowd made it difficult for the APC’s presidential
candidate, General Muhammadu Buhari, to access the platform to deliver
the party’s manifesto.
He was unable to make a speech at the rally, as the crowd surged on
to the podium, disrupting the rally held in Maiduguri, the Borno State
capital entirely.
General Buhari and other officials eventually left the venue amidst the sea of heads who were completely uncontrollable.
At Ramat Square, the crowd had gathered waiting for the arrival of General Muhammadu Buhari.
Virtually every space was taken in anticipation of the presidential candidate of the APC to catch a glimpse of him.
The day had been declared a work free day by the state government,
but the frenzy crowd made it difficult for the candidate to make it to
their seats or the podium which was practically invaded by the crowd.
General Buhari and other party members were guarded back to their vehicles, ending the event abruptly .
