Angry: Singer Natasha Koroleva is taking legal action after an adult video of her with her husband appeared online |
She says they must have been pinched from her computer and is now suing the news website that showed them.
The singer wants judges to force online news service super.ru, based in the Russian capital Moscow, to delete them and pay compensation for the "gross breach of my privacy".
She added: "I have nothing to be ashamed of, but this should be a criminal case. When someone is violating my rights in such a way, I go to court."
The graphic pictures show Ms Koroleva performing a number of adult acts with a sex toys and her husband Sergey Glushko, a former male stripper known by his stage name 'Tarzan'.
Ms Koroleva, who was born in the Ukraine when it was under the control of the USSR, is a highly valued member of Russian president Vladimir Putin's political party and has been awarded an Honoured Artist of Russia gong.
Despite being born in the Ukrainian capital Kiev, she supports Russian-sponsored rebels and fears the cyber-attack has been caused by Ukrainian nationalists.
But politicians are already calling for her to be stripped of the honour.
Vitaliy Milonov, an MP in the north-western Russian city of Saint Petersburg said: "I think the president should withdraw her title."
He added: "I don't know how someone like her could possibly get this title.
"She should be banned from taking part in events where children are involved."
