Diddy claims he was defending himself in college football bust-up as he stands accused of assault with deadly weapon

P Diddy was defending himself during the incident with his son Justin Combs' college football coach Sal Alosi.

The hip hop mogul was arrested and charged with assault yesterday after a showdown on campus, and has now spoken out against the claims.

In a statement released by his reps to Mirror Celeb, his representative said: "The various accounts of the event and charges that are being reported are wholly inaccurate.

"What we can say now is that any actions taken by Mr. Combs were solely defensive in nature to protect himself and his son.

"We are confident that once the true facts are revealed, the case will be dismissed."

It has been alleged that Diddy lost it when his son’s college coach Sal Alosi allegedly belittled Justin Combs infront of his whole UCLA team.

TMZ Sports has reported that the violent bust up between Diddy and the football coach kicked off because Diddy felt that Alosi had tried to embarrass him.

Sal Alosi, who is the strength and conditioning coach, targeted Justin during the session – allegedly shouting “I don’t care if your dad's here. This is UCLA. I'm going to treat you just like I treat everyone else."

The website claims that these comments sparked rage, and Diddy went to meet Alosi in his office with his son.
