Blogger told on Tinder that she was 'too fat' is flooded with date offers

A woman told on Tinder she was 'too fat to go out with' has been inundated with offers of dates.

Michelle Thomas hit the headlines when a blog post she had written in response to the criticism went viral.

But despite many messages of support from around the world, the 30-year-old says she has decided to give up on internet dating for the time being.

Instead she is going to put her efforts into empowering other women.

She told the Daily Post: "To be honest I am too busy.

"I have deleted the Tinder application and I haven't bothered with another dating site."
Offers to tell her story, a book project and her decision to start the hashtage #healthhappyhot are taking up her time.

She has appeared on TV and even had approval from people like New Girl star Zooey Deschanel for her heartfelt and strong retort to her misguided date.

"All in all it's been an incredible experience," Michelle said.

"I didn't think it would be seen by 180,000.
“The response overall has been really positive and I have had so many comments and e-mails from all over the world.

"The blog has gone all around the world, so it just says people want to have this conversation - about body issues - it's very galvanising and empowering.

"I wrote the blog for comfort and reassurance and I have had that back in bucket loads."

She admitted to shedding a tear when she first got the 400 word email from her date, known only as Simon, telling her he “adored” her before going on to say “my mind is turned on by someone slimmer”.

Her public reply, posted to her blog along with his email, told him in no uncertain terms how hurtful and backward his attitude was.

Michelle says she’s “20 pounds overweight” but she is happy with who and what she is.

Her hashtag Healthhappyhot is intended to celebrate the human form in all its varities and she urges everyone to enjoy the skin they are in.
