OSUN State governor, Rauf Aregbesola, has said that though the state
workers are currently experiencing hard times, the state government will
make all efforts to pay their salaries.
Aregbesola, who started to pay the backlog of salaries owed civil
servants this week, said that he would leave no stone unturned in
ensuring that workers receive their pay.
In a post on his Facebook wall on Wednesday July 1, 2015, he wrote:
“LGA workers and primary school teachers would get March and April
salaries within the next two days, their outstanding will be two months.
It’s indeed trying times for us, may God see us through. Osun a dara”.
He stressed that the salaries of other civil servants and secondary school teachers were yet to be paid.
“Further efforts are being made to liquidate all the outstanding
salaries of Osun workers. As it stands now, state civil servants and
secondary schools teachers are owed six months arrears.”
