An Asaba Magistrates’ Court in Delta on Thursday sentenced 31-year-old Anthony Uwaka to 12 months imprisonment for stealing bolts and nuts.
The Magistrate, Akanume Okonkwo, sentenced Mr. Uwaka after he pleaded guilty to the charge.
The convict is of unknown address.
Earlier, the prosecutor, Joseph Ukwebele, had told the court that Uwaka committed the offence on Jan. 26, 2015, at an uncompleted building at Location 151, along the Asaba-Ibusa Expressway.
He said the convict stole more than 500 pieces of bolts and nuts valued at N614, 000, belonging to Mustapha Jafaru.
Ukwebele said that the offence contravened Section 390 (9) of the Criminal Code, Cap C21 Vol. 1 Laws of Delta State of Nigeria, 2004.
