One person was killed and six children critically injured after a gunfight caused a car crash in Kansas City.
The occupants of two vehicles were reportedly shooting at each other on Tuesday night when one of the vehicles hit a nearby car.
Sergeant Kari Thompson said one of the people inside the uninvolved vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene.
The six children, who were passengers in the same vehicle, were taken to hospitals in critical condition.
One of the two people involved in the shooting was also critically injured.
Sgt Thompson said one person was arrested after officers used stop sticks - spiked strips thrown on to the road to stop cars.
The identity of the suspect has not been released.
