The owners of plantations and crops affected by the Ekiti State airport project have mobilized to see Governor Fayose over compensations and also to ask for time to harvest their produce.
Governor Fayose, after interacting with the farmers, said that the enumeration of affected plantations was in progress.
He promised that all affected farmers would be duly compensated.
Earlier in October, the Ekiti State Government said that it was taking major steps in its effort at building an airport to be sited in Aso Ayegunle community.
The airport is expected to occupy about 4,000 hectares of land and the State Government has mobilised tractors and other earth moving equipment to prepare the place for construction.
