Forty two candidates will be vying for who becomes the next governor of Kogi and Bayelsa States.
The Kogi governorship election will hold on November 21 while the one in Bayelsa will take place on December 5.
The final list published by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and signed by the Acting Secretary to the commission, U.F. Usman, shows that 22 candidates are to contest for the governorship seat in Kogi State alongside their deputies, while the governorship seat in Bayelsa State will be contested by 20 candidates with their deputies.
Among those vying for the seat in Kogi State are the incumbent governor, Captain Idris Wada of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Prince Abubakar Audu of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Philips Salawu of the Labour Party, and Michael Abdullahi of the Alliance for Democracy (AD).
Those vying for the seat in Bayelsa included the incumbent, Seriake Dickson of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Timipre Sylva of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Moses Siasia of the Peoples Democratic Movement (PDM), among others.
