Teen 'using Snapchat while driving' sued after crash left victim brain damaged

A teenager is being taken to court after allegedly using Snapchat while driving in the moments before a tragic crash that left the other motorist with brain damage.

Christal McGee is accused of using the app's 'speed filter' while behind the wheel.
The filter means that when the image is sent out to followers, it informs pals of how quickly the user was moving at the time the image was taken.

And in the moments after the crash McGee, 18, posted an image of her injuries.
She captioned the picture: "Lucky to be alive".

The other driver, Wentworth Maynard, needs round-the-clock care from his family as a result of the incident.
