Musa passes Leicester medical

Leicester City are set to break their club record transfer fee for a second time in a week when they complete the signing of CSKA Moscow striker Ahmed Musa on Friday.

Sky sources understand the Nigerian striker has passed a medical and will sign a contract with the Premier League champions later, for a fee over £15m.

Leicester paid £13m for midfielder Nempalys Mendy - who worked with Ranieri at Monaco - from Nice last weekend.

But Sky understand he is not seen by boss Claudio Ranieri as a replacement for N'Golo Kante.

The club want to keep the France midfielder, who could feature in the Euro 2016 final in Paris on Sunday following Thursday night's 2-0 win over Germany.

Musa scored 13 goals and provided five assists for CSKA in 30 Russian Premier League games last season. He has also scored 11 goals in 58 Nigeria appearances, two of them coming in the 3-2 defeat to Argentina in the 2014 World Cup.

Musa will become Leicester's fourth signing of the summer, following goalkeeper Ron-Robert Zieler, defender Luis Hernandez and Mendy.
