Its spokesman, Prince Diran Odeyemi said the development was a “witch-hunt”, wondering why the federal government was “shielding” members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) from prosecution.
Odeyemi said Buhari was keen on silencing the opposition, adding that his anti-corruption fight “would continue to be a ruse, in-as-much-as many corrupt people within the ruling party, APC are not exposed and prosecuted”.
“The ruling All Progressives Congress, at present, has in its fold, some of the most corrupt individuals that other parties, including PDP found rather too dirty to be accommodated, and yet they are being covered with the party’s duvet.
“Today, Buhari is keeping Femi Fani-Kayode, Esther Nenadi Usman in prison, Olisa Metu almost lost his life in detention and now it’s the turn of Omisore while Fayose and Akpabio are being trailed.
“We implore Mr President to re-examine his anti-corruption fight and make it total instead of the targeted attacks on PDP members to permanently silence opposing voices in the country”, Odeyemi said.
