The presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress
(APC), General Muhammadu Buhari, says if elected, his administration
will stop youths restiveness in Nigeria through job creation.
Speaking at the party’s presidential rally in Gombe, North East
Nigeria, General Muhammadu Buhari, promised to ensure adequate power
supply which would boost the activities of small business owners,
resulting in growth of the Nigerian economy.
He also promised to fight corruption and invest monies that would be
recovered from corrupt government officials in the education and health
sectors.
While addressing the APC supporters in Gombe State, General Buhari
reeled out the manifesto of the political party that is seeking to take
over power in the centre, unseating the ruling Peoples Democratic party.
The party’s manifesto focuses on creation of jobs, fight against
corruption, further privatisation of power distribution, sustained
resuscitation of the transport system and provision of funding for
small scale business owners amongst others.
The Party chieftains spoke on the need to make critical change in key
sectors of the economy, urging Nigerians to give the opposition party
an opportunity to serve them.
The event was not only about speeches as chieftains of the party
received prominent citizens of the state who defected from the Peoples
Democratic Party.
Campaigns have been heightened, with flag bearers of different
political parties touring the states and wooing voters ahead of the
February 14 presidential election.
