Tinubu Plans To Become President Of Nigeria Through ‘The Back Door’ – PDP
The Peoples Democratic Party Presidential Campaign Organisation says it has uncovered a plan by the national leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Bola Tinubu, to assume the position of president of Nigeria through the back door.
The Director of Media and publicity, Femi Fani-Kayode, while speaking to reporters in Abuja on Friday also alleged that the vice presidential candidate of the APC , Professor Yemi Osinbajo, had been asked to take an oath and step down after six month ‘if APC wins’.
Mr Fani-Kayode said the plan was one of the reasons the leadership of the opposition party was desperate for power.
“The real reason why Senator Tinubu nominated Professor Osinbajo has been made known to us and we hereby offer a public service to the Nigerian people by drawing attention to it.
“Credible piece of information at our disposal indicates that Tinubu has perfected plans to come to power through the back door.
“Senator Tinubu, according to our information, compelled Professor Osinbajo to swear to an oath that after six months in office, he would resign as the vice president in the likely event that their party wins,” he said.
According to Mr Fani-Kayode, “the wicked plot as laid out by the APC is to force Professor Osinbajo to resign for senator Tinubu to be nominated by General Buhari as his replacement”.
“The ultimate objective of this plot is to ensure that Tinubu becomes president.”
He said that there was an anticipation that, given the questionable health status of General Buhari, Senator Tinubu ,who is desperate to be president for his own selfish reasons, would buy time in the evil expectation that General Buhari would not be able to go the whole hug.
The PDP advised General Buhari to watch his back, as the nation’s general elections date draws nearer.
The APC has not responded to the allegations.
