Arsene Wenger has confirmed Arsenal have not made a bid for Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema.
It was reported in The Sun newspaper on Friday that the Gunners were preparing a £40m offer for the France international.
The report claimed Wenger will step up his pursuit of the player next week, with Real keen to offload the 27-year-old.
But Wenger said: "I don't know where that story has come from. But that's not happening at the moment."
Olivier Giroud is currently Arsenal's first-choice striker, while Alexis Sanchez, Theo Walcott and Danny Welbeck have all been used there.
Chuba Akpom enhanced his claim for a bigger role in the first team with a hat-trick in the Gunners' 4-0 win over a Singapore Select XI on Wednesday.
