Andy Murray and wife Kim Sears are 'expecting their first child together'

Andy Murray and Kim Sears are expecting their first child together, according to reports.

The tennis star and longtime love, who tied the knot in April, are said to have revealed the happy news to family and friends after she visited hospital for a 12-week scan.

The little tot is understood to be due in February.

Sources told The Sun that Andy’s Strictly Come Dancing star mum Judy, 55, and his brother Jamie were ecstatic after hearing the news.

Judy has previously spoken of how she was looking forward to being a grandmother.

Just days after the couple wed she told Closer mag: “I’m really looking forward to being a granny.

“I’ve always wanted to have grandchildren but I had to be patient and let them get married first.”

It is thought Kim fell pregnant during the French Open which saw Andy knocked out to Novak Djokovic during the semi-final in June.

In 2013 the former US open and Wimbledon champ said he and Kim had been an item for eight years and were thinking about starting a family.

Writing in his autobiography, Andy joked that having his two dogs sometimes felt like having to look after children.
“It is not the same as having kids - or at least I don’t think it is - but that’s sometimes what it feels like.”

The happy news comes just four months after the pair wed in a lavish ceremony at Dunblane Castle.

They later described it as "the best weekend of our lives".
