Women tired of 'make-up shaming' post half made-up selfies to show they are beautiful with or without it

A make-up artist who posted a video to YouTube in which she transformed only half of her face has started a global trend on social media.

Nikkie, from the Netherlands, posted the above video to show that there's 'no shame' in wearing make-up - and many others are following in her footsteps.

She said: "I feel like lately makeup shaming has become a thing.

"It's as if putting makeup on to have fun is a shame. Therefore, I thought it would be cool to show you power of makeup. A transformation. Because makeup... is FUN!"

Now thousands of others are taking to social media to share their own 'half make-up selfies' in solidarity with Nikkie and women everywhere.

What is the message? That women can look beautiful with or without make-up, but wearing it is their choice and they should never feel judged.
