Arsenal chief executive Ivan Gazidis says he expects Arsene Wenger to remain at Arsenal for years to come.
The
Frenchman is entering his 20th season in charge of the north London
club, making him the longest-serving manager in the English game by some
distance.
Wenger is now closing in on Sir Alex Ferguson,
who spent 27 years at Manchester United – and Gazidis says he sees no
reason to think the Gunners boss is planning to stand down any time
soon.
"He's been incredibly important for us," Gazidis told the Straits Times.
"You
never know but he's in great health and he's doing incredibly well.
He's full of energy and enthusiasm, his hunger is still there, and I'd
never put an end-date on it.
"He's also been a passionate supporter of the club, in a sense a fan
of the club. He's put the club's progress and development above his own
personal interest.
"We believe we have the right man in the club and we're very pleased that he's full of health and willing to carry us forward."
Some Arsenal fans wouldn't like this including the famous Arsenal fan, Piers Morgan...
Well as an Arsenal the FA Cup isn't enough, Wenger needs to bring up home the league if he is to stay for long and he is no where close to Ferguson....
What do you think?
